Kingston vs. Panthers Best of 3 Series

Game 1: Panthers 4 Kingston 0.

The Ponies lost the opening game of their best of three series against the Winchester Panthers by a 4-0 score. Mark Charboneau pitched a one- hit shutout for the Panthers. He was to start a two game suspension tonight , but was allowed to pitch when the Panthers appealed the suspension. Derek Howe pitched a strong game for Kingston allowing only five hits, one of which was a solo homerun by former Pony Ken Huggins. The Ponies will be back in action tonight at Megaffin for game 2, Brett Gibson will take the mound for the Ponies.

Game 2: Panthers 4 Kingston 3, Extra Innings

The Panthers scored the winning run in the top of the eigth to take the lead and the series. The Panthers took the early 2-0 lead in the first. The Ponies scored 1 in the second and 2 in the fourth to take the lead. The lead held until the 6th inning when Panthers tied the game. The game remained tied until the Panthers scored the run in the eigth. Brett Gibson was the losing pitcher for the Ponies.
